My husband and I will be travelling from Budapest to Vienna and from Vienna to Prague. We will go to Cesky Krumlov and Karlovy Vary. We also have time for on of these three places - Lednice Chateau and Park or Konopiste Castle or Karlstejn Castle. Any suggestions? Thank you very much!

If you can break your Vienna-Prague leg then Lednice makes the most sense but to make the most out of the Chateau, the park and the tower you'd have to commit 4-5hrs. If you are travelling from Prague then it's one of the castles i.e. either Konopiste or Karlstejn. Both are very different. Konopiste has a colourful 19th/20th Century history with a more "lived-in" feel plus the gardens (and the bullet that killed Franz Ferdinand). Karlstejn is medieval, historic, visually more stunning but no gardens and no recent history. For the wow factor you won't beat Karlstejn but for the appreciation of recent history and historical characters then it's Konopiste for me.
