After visiting Prague in late March, I can spend 3 days in Cesky Krumlov (travel there by bus) or Krakow (travel there by plane). As the weather will be cold (no Vltava river canoeing!), where do you think I should go?
Disclaimer: I have not been to Kraklow. But scenic and fun as it is two days in Cesky Kromlov is about the max and that's in summer when you might spend a day on the river. We arrived around noon and left early the next morning and felt deprivived only of a day long raft trip.
Cesky Krumlov is great to visit off-season; yes, fewer things to do, but fewer tourists too. One full day would be quite enough though. Leaves you two days for Krakow. Not long enough to do a whole lot, but you can check out Wawel Castle, see the town square, and eat some bigos, pirogis, and wash it down with some awesome (and dirt cheap) Polish vodka!
Krakow is a real gem. I wouldn’t pass on the chance to visit it.
Three days is more than enough for Cesky Krumlov. One night there is sufficient. Unless you want to do day trips. Cesky Krumlov is a very picturesque fairytale gem. Much smaller than Krakow. You can spend three days in Krakow no problem even without a day trip(s). I read somewhere that Krakow is future Prague. Well, not exactly but nevertheless pretty.
