It is pouring rain here in Cesky Krumlov and we are not interested in spending tomorrow paddling as we had planned. We’ve been asking around about a hike, but the cloud level is really low. I understand from Rick's guide there is a hiking route that leaves from the bear pits near the castle and wanders around some low elevation terrain. No one at the hostel seems to know what we are talking about. Has anyone taken this hike? Any thoughts? We aren’t good at just hanging out.
Sorry about the rain. This isn’t paddling or hiking, but have you been to the Egon Schiele museum there in town?
Thank you for the suggestion. Wouldn’t you know? I just checked and they are closed for technical reasons. Maybe related to all the rain? Thank you again.
Drat! Don’t know if you’re a beer drinker, but this may be time to stop in somewhere and sample some Pivo!
I haven’t hiked in Cesky Krumlov but just found this link: http://www.wandermap.net/en/regional/Czech+Republic/Český+Krumlov/Český+Krumlov/
That might help you. Have you tried the tourist office for a hiking map?
Thank you! We did some reconnaissance tonight and found some signs from the local hiking club, too. We plan on being at the TI when it opens :-)
The Graphite Mine is a really cool thing to do, and it's great for a rainy day!
Great idea! Thanks!
you can see tourist paths on mapy.cz (switch to outdoor map)
Thank you all for the help. Finally found the hike described by Rick and it was perfectly lovely in the rain. And we were all alone. Thank you all again.
