How to get from Prague airport to central train station

We are flying in to Prague and then taking the train to Plzen where we are staying for a week. We have read confusing information about how to get from the airport to the train station. Most said don't take a taxi while some said take Uber or there is an airport shuttle. Any suggestions?

Prague Airport's website says:

"The direct connection between Prague Airport and Prague Main Railway Station is provided by Airport Express buses which stop directly outside the main railway station building."

Travel time is about 40 minutes.

Just to note that when taking the Airport Express FROM the airport then the AE stop is outside Terminal 1. It also says you can pay on the bus. In reality this means paying by contactless VISA/Mastercard (AMEX/Diners may not be accepted) or using low value cash (maximum CZK200 note). If you don't have small notes or the ability to use contactless payment then after airport arrival it's best to go direct to one of the airport information desks and buy an AE ticket there which you then present to the driver when you board. When you arrive at the train station if you already have tickets then you go down the escalator to the departure level otherwise you'll need to make your way down to the -3 floor for the national CD ticket office.

The bus Rick describes in his book is convenient, easy, and cheap. It has changed number from 119 to 59. You can buy tickets at the information desk near the exit of the airport using a charge card. The buses last stop is at the underground green line A.

For Airport to Railway Station the Airport Express is the best option. The 59 is fine as long as you consider that after arrival at the Veleslavin metro (A line) you'll need to change to the metro to Muzeum then change again to the C line for the station. Or there's an option to arrive at Veleslavin then change to the Tram 26 which stops at the station. Just bear in mind that the AE is direct and includes the cost of luggage. Public transport options will require line changes and you'll be needing extra tickets for large luggage. Just to note that UBER is the official provider of taxi services at Prague Airport.
