How much CZK cash is enough for 2 full days in Prague

Hello, I am thinking of getting some CZK cash before I leave just for day 1 when I arrive there for transportation and food because we will be arriving at night. How much is enough for food and transport / day. We can always exchange USD to CZK there if it is not enough.

a couple of 1000 kc should be fine,I am just back from 2 weeks in Prague and spent about 1000kc per day., that included lunch and dinner with plenty of beer, transport tickets and entry to some of the places I was visiting.I am a regular visitor to the city so am pretty used to eating and drinking away from the tourist areas.2-300kc will get you a decent main course in most places and a beer should be 40-50kc,cheaper if out of the centre,Credit and debit cards are widely accepted .

I would not plan to changing US currency if you're running just a bit short. Between the bad exchange rate and quite likely a flat fee, you won't get much local currency if you try to exchange something like $15 or $20. Plan to use an ATM. The usual warnings apply: Know what your bank will charge, if anything, for use of an overseas ATM; read the ATM screen to be sure the machine itself isn't going to charge a fee; and if you're offered the opportunity to have the withdrawal recorded in dollars, do NOT take that option.

ATMs work round the clock. ATMs don't charge excessively high exchange rates (as long as they are bank owned and operated and you reject the offer to charge you in dollars). ATMs are located everywhere. ATMs don't have a language barrier (most have multiple languages supported) So why would you want to exchange actual cash?

I do agree that having some local currency on arrival would be a good idea so you don't have to waste time getting some especially if it is late at night. When I last visited 1000 CZK (around US$80 at the time) was enough per day for my needs. And of course credit cards work too in the Czech Republic.
