Hotel rec for Prague 2 or Prague 7

I'm planning a solo trip for Sept/Oct 2025, one week in Prague then onward to Poland. My initial plan was to stay at Hotel Anna Prague in Vinohrady but all of the available rates for this autumn (so far) are all "100% prepayment -- no refund" which is not suitable for me.

So I'm looking for an alternative to Hotel Anna, preferably still in Prague 2/Vinohrady. I plan on doing some day trips while in Prague so I don't want to be too far away from the train station or a metro/tram stop that can get me there. I would also consider staying in Prague 7, but only if it's something closer to Letná Park rather than east of the train tracks. My preference is for a neighborhood that isn't right in the middle of all the tourist action, but with a good choice of restaurants/cafés which is why I've focused on these areas.

Any recommendations are welcome.

I would suggest staying in Prague 3. We stayed in an Airbnb there -- the train station was a 15 minute walk or very short tram ride away.

Prague 7 is good as is Prague 6, but the whole of Prague has fantastic and very cheap transport links it is quite easy to stay in most areas. I have stayed in Prague 6 numerous times lots of decent places to stay , I am in Prague tomorrow staying in Clarion Hotel near I P Pavlova metro right in the middle of Prague 2 area, this is a very popular area and has numerous hotels of all grades, superb transport links to all parts of the city, train station, Wenselas square all easily walkable.it is not a major tourist area but there will be a lot of tourists in the area because of the number of hotels.
I don't know what method you are using to book but I often book through Booking.com where I have the option for paying for non refundable rooms or paying a higher fee where i can get a refund.

In Prague 7 look for Mama Shelter. Great place for meeting people if you are solo and very well connected to get into the centre of town.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

@Jason - Mama Shelter has come up before during my research. The location is good and the hotel is very well rated but I have to admit it does seem a bit too "quirky" for my tastes.

@UncleGus - I never really considered Prague 6, but I'll give it a closer look. Thanks for the recommendation.

I use Booking.com as well, in conjunction with the RS and Lonely Planet (pre-2023) books for ideas, but then usually end up booking direct with the hotel unless I have a very good reason to go with Booking. In my experience, cancellation policy is usually fairly consistent across platforms since it is determined by the hotel. I was confused about Hotel Anna because I don't recall ever seeing a hotel with no flexible rates available anywhere.

I'm still leaning toward Vinohrady, but I'll keep looking in Prague 6 and 7 as well.

I got curious and looked around the neighborhood of the Hotel Anna. Very nice indeed. At 20 to 40 minutes to old town (walk vs public), its a bit far out for my taste, but you know the neighborhood is so nice maybe I changed my thinking. So I looked at the prices. Also very nice. Then the issue of pre-pay no refund. They have a little game going on. That appears to be based on some combination of how far in advance and for how long. A short stay, 3 or 4 nights they will quote you refundable in through mid May, longer stays stop the offer in March. I get the reasons why, but gives me a bad taste, so I would pass on that alone.

@Mr É - I agree, it gives me a bad taste too. I will be avoiding them unless they change their flexible rate availability.
