I did, about 8 years ago. It was well priced and located in a quieter area very close to the old town. They had a good breakfast, our room and bathroom was quite large. Staff was helpful. We arrived at 7:30am and they made our room immediately available.

We stayed there quite awhile ago, maybe nine years. It was fine. I agree with the comments of jules m above. And from the Hastal it was an easy walk to the main bus station (Florenc) to catch a bus to Cesky Krumlov. Have a great trip.

We stayed there in 2018 for 6 nights. Location great; Just off main square so relatively quiet. RS discount. We paid in cash; euros. can’t remember the reason. Lots of choices for breakfast.

Yes, we had the pleasure of spending 6 nights at Hotel Hastal in September 2019. The hotel was highly recommended by many contributors from this forum. We had a large comfortable room, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. It’s a family run hotel. They pay special attention to details. It was a 5 minute walk from the Metro and Old Town. Many wonderful restaurants close by. We walked everywhere. We would definitely book there again! We took two walking tours plus a day trip to Terezin. Enjoy
your planning.

We also stayed here a few years ago. Besides the easy walk to the main square, there is a nice restaurant across the street call Local. We ate there twice. Mainly locals.

Barbara- We also ate dinner twice at Lokál
Restaurant. Good local food and a fun place.
Believe it or not we also went to a Japanese restaurant a couple blocks away as well as two cafes close by. All wonderful. Our favorite special dinner across the Charles Bridge was Cihelna. We had a stunning view table on the riverside terrace at sunset. It was a 15 min. walk from the hotel.

If you eat at Lokál then look on the lunch board (on the wall) and at the bottom it should say "Oběd pro dalšího". If you ask the waiter to put that on your bill you'll pay CZK90 but that gives a homeless person a meal somewhere in the city.

These are all VERY helpful responses to my original posting. Thank you, everyone, for sharing your "2 cents" (which is worth much more to me!).
