We are considering staying near St. Nicholas Church on the Palace side of the river. Are there any pros or cons to staying in this area? Traveling in June.
Thank you
good area, right in the heart of the tourist area, but trams very close by to get you to other parts of the city, some great bars and restaurants nearby U Glaubicu ( oft visited place for me) and Porks ( a fairly new place) where I celebrated my birthday with friends in March this year .Short walk onto Charles bridge , trams up to the Castle area or just walk up the steps.Once over Charles bridge you just follow the Royal route into the heart of the old Town and through to the Powder gate / Municiple building .No real cons other than there will be lots of tourists in the area and the prices in some of the bars and restaurants will reflect that though i must admit U Glaubicu is one of the better priced places in the area.
I should ask what hotel are you looking at as some places can be up the hill a bit and can be a bit of a climb
Other than staying in Stare Mesto, that neighborhood is a great place to stay and convenient for visiting Prague Castle and the Wallenstein Palace and gardens. Embassy Row and the Strahov Monastery also are nearby.
In Prague, in the old town, near the clock area, is
