From Frankfurt to Prague

Hello there,
I am thinking of going to Prague on Thanksgiving. Due to the nature of my business, unfortunately, we are unable to travel during the warmer times :( However, last year we went to England during Thanksgiving and it was great!
So, I just saw that there is a direct flight from SFO to Frankfurt, which is great, because I think we could also do a few day in Germany. Any hotel suggestions there? Planning on being in Frankfurt 11/19-11/21. Then head over to Prague, which is only 5.5 hours (based on the map). What can we see on the way?
Prague...hotel and neighborhood suggestions? Plan is 11/21-11/26. Then head back to Frankfurt and fly home. Or...any other suggestions as far as where to from?
Thank you in advance.

On the direct route from Frankfurt to Prague you'll appreciate Bamberg. On the Czech side of the border one of the famous spas - Marianske Lazne (Marienbad) and Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) - might also be a worthwhile stop. On the way back Dresden, Weimar and Erfurt are also good cities if you don't mind a small detour.

I would just fly from Frankfurt to Prague. Lufthansa offer multiple daily connections for €119 return.

Alternatively, I would fly to Prague and then take the train back to Frankfurt via Nuremberg. The Nuremberg Christmas market will open on 25 November and it is marvellous. There is direct DB Bus from Prague to Nuremberg and then a DB ICE train to Frankfurt. You will need to book your connections well in advance to avail of cheap DB fares.

Thank you, everyone. I dont want to fly from Frankfurt to Prague because i want to visit some places on our way. We really do not have to get to Prague on 11/21. I am just guesstimating. Yes, Karlovt Vary is definitely something we want to visit. Thanks, for reminding me!
