Fine Tuning Prague with Krakow itinerary

We are arriving in Prague the morning of July 11 and plan to depart via overnight train to Krakow late on the night of 17th. So 5 1/2 days in Prague and 4 days in Krakow. Flights to and from the US are set, but not all of the itinerary.

My adult daughter wants to experience at least one or two days seeing some of the countryside, or at least outside Prague. RS suggests Kutna Hora as a day trip, particularly if you can't get an overnight at Cesky Kurmiov.. I do not want to rent a car and therefore want to use train or bus. I think there is only one train from Prague to Cesky Kurmlov that really works.

There are bus day tours that might be compromise, albeit with a long bus ride.

I know this sounds overly complicated, but I could also shave a day off Krakow too, but that itinerary (Auschwitz, Salt Mines, Schindler Factory, and general walking tours with sites) seems to call for 4 days.

I am thinking I cannot go wrong with any of these choices, but welcome feedback. There is plenty to do in Prague, but just thinking.

Kutna Hora, Olomouc, Tabor and Cesky Krumlov all make great options outside of Prague. I’ve always found after 3 days in Prague, I’m ready for somewhere else to mix it up a bit.

Prague to Tabor, which has a great Old Town area and underground tunnels used during the Hussite rebellion, takes about 1:15 by train. Prague to Kutna Hora takes anywhere from 50 minutes to two hours by train.
Cesky Krumlov and Olomouc are better with an overnight stay as the trains & buses to Krumlov and high-speed trains to Olomouc take about 2.5 hours each way
A bonus on some of the bus trips to Cesky Krumlov is that they stop briefly by the town square of Cesky Budejovice— giving passengers a look at the Old Town square.
If you do decide on Cesky Krumlov, try calendaring it for a weekday when the crowds are much thinner than they are on weekends.
Here’s the Czech national train company website so you can further fine tune your visit: www.Cd.cz/en
Have a great trip!
