My wife and I have just returned from the wonderful city of Prague. A fantastic private tour of Prague with a Rick Steves-recommended guide named Vaclav Storek made our trip all the more special.
Vaclav's knowledge of the history of Prague and the Czech Republic added so much to our visit. He was knowledgeable about architecture, art, and famous figures of the Czech Republic, past and present. But it was the little things that stood out. An example is the architectural concept of trompe l'oeil, which replaces real windows with bricked-up windows painted to look like real ones. When we saw a new building, it became a game to try to find the false windows. That bit of whimsy added to the fun of the tour.
The tour was well organized, and we covered a lot of ground and topics in about 4 hours.
He also provided info to us after the tour with a list of books and movies about Czech history.
Vaclav was an intelligent, friendly, fun, and engaging tour guide, and we highly recommend him if you are looking for a tour of Prague.
