Hi. I’m traveling to Germany next week and will be driving around various cities in Bavaria before heading from Regensburg to Prague on the 27th. I’ve rented through Sixt who has been great in other countries. My question is the vignettes for the Czech toll roads. Is this something I arrange with Sixt in advance or do I do it in my own? I only need it for one day since I’ll be turning in the car in Prague. Also, any thoughts on affixing to the window it so I don’t incur “damage” charges from Sixt? Thanks in advance for any advice!
First check with Sixt if the car you are hiring already has the toll paid for because sometimes they use specific cars for one-way drop offs to Prague. If not then this is something you do yourself. The Czech Republic no longer does the sticker system so you have to do this online at https://edalnice.cz/en/index.html#/validation and the minimum period is 10 days. Of course, before you can do this you will need to know the registration of the car you will be hiring so you may have to do this on the day you travel.
Thanks Jason! Appreciate your help. I’ll check with Sixt and keep that link handy.
