I would like to visit my ancestral village of Dolni Dobrouc while in the Czech Republic. It doesn't show up on most maps, except Google, but I could use some assistance on how best to get there as a day trip from Prague? It is about 2.5 hours East. We do not intend to rent a car. Many thanks!

You do not need a car. It takes little over 2 hours by train from Prague. You change trains in Usti nad Orlici. There are many trains going about every hour to two hours. You can choose your connection here: http://www.idos.cz . You can switch it to English.
