We are hoping to come go to Europe in 2020 to do a few weeks cycling. Can anyone suggest scenic cycle paths we should consider. We want the most scenic ones as this will probably be the only time we do this. At present we are considering the Vienna to Prague combined with Prague to Dresden and also Bolzano to Venice on a barge with cycling included. Has anyone done these and if so are they worth doing. If anyone has any better ideas please advise. There are so many great cycle paths to choose from. We are average ability cyclists and reasonably fit. We want to do self-guided tours to make organising easier.
The route is part of a marked "greenway" or European Cycle Route, called EuroVelo 7.
There is a Czech website called Cyclists Welcome, which shows bike-friendly accommodation.
You might find Bag and Bikes luggage transfer service useful too.
I've cycled along a different section of another greenway before. For the most part, they are excellent and easy to follow, although occasionally we lost track of the waymarkers.
Thanks Marcus. Was there any particular cycling path you would recommend?
