Use an ATM machine to withdraw local currency at the best rates (in other words, don't bring money to get "exchanged"). I don't know what a prepaid forex card is or who accepts prepaid cards. Always use the local currency in each country (that means no Euros in Prague, only in Austria).

Actually, some places DO accept Euros in Prague -- but at whatever rate they want to set. Why don't you want to use an ATM debit card ?

EDIT -- sorry, if you can't get a debit card in India, then ignore my question.

Use Czech currency in Prague, e.g. Czech Crowns (koruna). Even if they accept Euro somewhere the exchange course is in their advantage, not yours.

Bring Euro and change it to Czech Koruna (CZK) at one of the exchange offices on Panksa Street (just off Wenceslaus Square) or if you're using an ATM, do not accept the conversion rate that machine offers you; it is usually horrific.

The Czech National Bank maintains the exchange rate at 1 euro = 27 czk, so this is your benchmark.
