Cross border travel from Prague to Skopje, FYROM(Macedonia)

I would like to rent a car in Prague and travel to Vienna, Budapest and then to Skopje, making many stops in between as I visit the small towns and villages of my ancestors. Does anyone have a suggestion of a rentacar company that would allow the cross-border travel and a drop-off in Skopje? I would have the car for a total of about 18 days.

The second part of the question is, are you allowed to rent a car in Prague, drive through Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia and return it to Prague?

Allowing cross-border travel should not be a problem. So long as you tell the car hire company in advance, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary are all in the EU. For Macedonia and Serbia (through which you have to go to get to Macedonia) you may have to shop around to get a car with permission to visit those countries,

What will be a show-stopper is renting a car in the Czech Republic and returning in Macedonia. International drop-off is very very expensive, as they have to drive the car back to the country it is registered in.
Is there any way you can re-work your plans so you pick up and drop-off the car in the same country?

Kaeleku, he says he was returning it to Prague so no drop fee, but you are probably correct about crossing out of the EU. When we have done this in private cars it's been a bit of a hassle, would be surprised if you could do it with a rental.

Better choice might be the train or plane or bus to major hubs like Budapest, then rent a car for a day or two before moving on.
