A new-ish daytime train, 7+ hours- has anyone taken it, or heard about it? Sounds more appealing than the night train.

I'm sure it's just a standard, mid-speed, nothing-fancy European train, but much awaited for the ability to cover the whole journey without connections. I found the overnight train fine but many people would prefer this day time train and there are no attractive flight options. Pack a lunch and a book onboard with you.

Train leaves Krakow at 10:22, arrives in Prague at 17:39. Big advantage: the train is direct, no changes. It is not superfast like in France or some other western European countries nevertheless goes up to 160 km/h (about 100 miles per hour) so not too slow either. Snacks and beverages are available on board.
