Cooking class??

I love to take one day cooking classes when traveling - and would hugely appreciate any suggestions for Prague. I've found the classes a wonderful introduction to local cuisine and a great way to spend the day - a change from museums and a window into local life, Any help would be enormously appreciated!!!

this is a great farmers market and I always visit when I am in the city, was there just over a week ago, only on a Saturday though but wonderful introduction to lots of wonderful food. Metro stop Dejvicka or a variety of trams take you right there.

there is also one at Na Plavka right on the banks of the river not such a range of food but lots of food stalls there and worth having a look to see local ethnic food stuff. Again I was there just over a week ago and there was a huge stall from the Swiss food marketing companies, loads of freebies. lots of otrher stall there too and a lovely part of the city, easy walking from the city centre but metro to Karlova Namesti and a very short walk or trams 2,3 and 17 will get you right there.
Both these places I can highly recommend for any foodie or just for a different activity for any tourist.

don't know when you are travelling but during the summer months there are often various food /cooking fayres on as well as wine and beer festivals so worth looking out for these.
Trip Advisor has a very active Prague forum and lots of folk on there can give you far better advice than I can, also they usually post when special events are on.
I am more into the Beer Scene in the city and is one of the main reasons I go there so often

We'll be in Prague in April which is, thankfully, a bit ahead of the crowds - but sometimes a slower season for walking tours, classes, etc. I did check TA but didn't find too much on classes - but will check back as our departure draws nearer,

PS
We were in Scotland for a month in the spring - and loved it. You live in a wonderful place!!

Again, many thanks!

I will keep an eye on things going on in Prague and try and post if and when I get information .should be a few things going on in April. I may be back in Prague in late March and then in either late May or early June just depending on work commitments but I have a few friends in the Czech republic that keep me up to date of things going on.

Last year, shortly before Christmas we took a class from Tereza at http://www.praguecookingclass.com/. We very much enjoyed the class and Tereza. The class was in her home and she met us at our hotel. My wife and I also find that these clases give us chance to learn more about a country and its people than just the cooking.

Thank you! I'd noted her classes on Trip Advisor but the reviews were so uneven - from fabulous to not - thatI hesitated to pursue this. But, now I will. Our trip to Prague is sims getting better and better! Oh, if inly we could eat and eat - without gaining weight!!
