Cesky Krumlov Train Station?

Hi! Does anyone know how far the Cesky Krumlov train station is from the center of town (near most of the hotels/restaurants)?

Thanks!

The bus stop is here and the train station is here, where GoogleMaps says "Czech Krumlov," a bit further away.

You're welcome. Wikitravel and Google Maps are my go-to's for many, many travel questions. I use Google Street Map to get point by point walking directions from train stations to my hotel...it's not perfect, but it's usually right on target especially by helping me locate the main streets (in case I have to wing it a bit).

Agnes, do you ever use Google Maps to find walking directions when traveling? Based on the Cesky Krumlov maps, it looks like the streets are fairly intricate/confusing. :)

Yes, I do it all the time. I think the map just looks more confusing than it actually is...just locate the major streets, and look at signs on the ground. The most twisted streets I've ever been on were in some Istanbul neighborhoods, so this map doesn't seem hard to follow. Plus it's a smallish area.

Here are some random directions...just a few street to remember, not so bad:

It is at least 20 minutes walk from the train station to the center. If you have luggage I would recommend taxi. 100 czk which is less than 5 bucks. There is one direct train a day between Prague and Cesky Krumlov. All other train connections are with a change in Ceske Budejovice.

Thanks, Ilja! We thought it might be fun to take the train back to Prague. we plan on taking the direct train to Prague that leaves at 14:02.

You don't need to buy train tickets in advance, do you? (Don't want to get stuck there, since I need to be back in Prague that night)

You don't have to buy train ticket in advance. Price in this case is the same. Student Agency bus is comfortable but train is even more comfortable and the ride is more scenic.

Google Street Map to get point by point walking directions
I have found OpenStreetMap much, much better than Google. Much clearer and with an unbelievable detail when you zoom in.
