We are starting our trip in Prague and would like to see the beautiful Cesky Krumlov. Next we would like to visit Munich as our home base and see Salzburg for a day and also go to Rothenburg. We plan to do other small side trips from Munich like visiting Neuschwanstein. I'm trying to figure out the best timeline. Should I go from Cesky Krumlov to Salzburg, Munich, the then Rothbenburg? If I do that then which Salzburg train station do I go to as I looked on the Bahn and I have no idea which one will go to the city center of Salzburg. I was hoping to stay in Munich and just go to Salzburg for the day as I know it is a 2hour train ride. We want to minimize staying in a new hotel every day, however I know going to Rothenburg from Munich is at least 3 hours so we would probably stay the night there. or should I go from Cesky krumlov to Rothenburg, Munich, then Salzburg. Help!
Logistically the best would be to go from C.K. to Salzburg then Munich then Rothenburg. There are many shuttles going from C.K. to Linz then by train to Salzburg or you can take a shuttle all the way to Salzburg. Your station in Salzburg is Hauptbahnhof.
Here are more tips for using the DB schedule search, just in case.
I'm jealous!
We went to Rothenberg (Ob der Tauber) back in 2011. Fantastic medieval town.
Don't forget the Night Watchman tour.
(we're doing a home exchange this summer in Prague and plan on going to CK as well)
