Cesky Krumlov's Hotel Mlyn Hotel Mlýn

Cesky Krumlov is a quaint "village" well worth a day's exploration but probably not more. There's much to see but it's repetitive. The Hotel Mlyn is a nice quite place. If you drive, you will not be permitted in the center historic area. Even if the hotel has parking, you cannot legally drive to it--like the Hotel Mlyn--but must park outside the river's boundary and take a taxi in. This regulation was enacted by the city fathers who neglected to tell anyone at the hotel.

There are quite a number of towns throughout Europe that do not allow cars in the historic town center. That applies to a number of places in Cornwall for example. And quite frankly, I'm all for it. It spoils the atmosphere, causes congestion and many other issues. I have no problem walking to a hotel with my luggage (one more reason to pack light) or grabbing a taxi. In Cesky Krumlov, the car parks are located fairly close to the center, so you should only have about an 8–15 minute walk.

For what it's worth, I loved Cesky Krumlov, and found it very charming. It is small and I agree that you really only need one night there, but it is a very lovely village that is well worth seeing. For more information on Cesky Krumlov , I would suggest visiting their website, which has a lot of information (including info on the pedestrian only zone). https://www.ckrumlov.info/en/frequently-asked-quetions-faq/

I stayed here 10 days ago (The hotel). It was a very last minute decision - I booked the hotel, plus the bus tickets at around 9pm on the Tuesday and travelled on the Wednesday. It was because I was not sure I could take 35C in Prague in our apartment with no real airflow.

The hotel was fine, and I thought the town itself was great fun - so pretty it could almost be out of a Disney set. I would probably go back, if only to raft or canoe down the river through the town. There were large numbers of people doing this while we were there, and it looked a great deal of fun.
