We (My wife and me) are 71 years old. We are leaving in three weeks time for a 42 day road trip in Europe and are going to Prague but staying in Celakovice as we do not want to drive into the city and are in no hurry!
From Celakovice to Prague Masarykovo station takes 30 minutes. Cost CZK46. I have two questions:
1. Can I, on this line, use a CZK 110 day ticket as well as in the city?
2. I read conflicting reports on this and other forums about over 70's and free to travel in Prague. You only need picture identification. Is that true and if so, is it also true for the train in from Celakovice? Some people say you need a PID.
I hope my questions are clear! English is my second language!
Thank You
Question 1. No, That route is not covered by DPP so you'll need to buy rail tickets separately.
Question 2. If you take your passport and photo to a transport hub ticket office like Mustek they'll make you a specific pass to use when you are on public transport. That gives you free transport on metro/tram/citybus but again it's a DPP pass so it won't be valid on the rail route.
