Castle visit and tours

The RS book says that Castle 'entrance' tickets are not for sale online, but I see them at what appears to be an official site.

RS also suggests using the tour outlined in his book, and from my experience his books' descriptions are usually informative as a guide, The only challenge is reading the book while you look around. I do like to go at my own pace. A private or super small tour is always the best, but am not sure if this is where to put that money. It is hard to find small tours, but I can still look.

Just wondering what others know of ticketing, and what they think of guided tours they have taken.

Prague Castle's official website for admission tickets and tours is www.Hrad.cz. After clicking the union jack flag for English, click the box on the top right that says "Prague Castle for Visitors."
You can book both admission tickets and tours in English.

Just remember that you have to print these tickets to be able to use the building barcode entry scanners. Better have a good printer. You just need to select the day and your ticket is good for that day and the day after. Check the "Operation Restrictions" tab on the main page for closure info.

Buyer beware. I used Headout to purchase an online ticket for the Prague castle . You know when you buy something online and your brain is telling you to STOP STOP STOP, but you resist and proceed... well STOP!
This is the best option for you. I paid the eqiuvalent of $32.21, never received a ticket; chat with CSR was first a "technical glitch", then "raising the team to get the ticket expedited", and although eventually the CSR promised a refund after my insistence to cancel and refund, no refund was ever issued. I am shocked!
My fault - there were enough bells ringing in my brain to know I shouldn't have bought online.
So, if you are thinking of using "Headout" to buy a ticket for the Prague Castle, "head out" to the castle instead, and buy the ticket at the tcket office on site. Added benefit... the ticket office has a senior discount and I ended up paying the equivalent of $13.83. BTW, the skipping the line part proffered on the website of Headout? not possible!
