Castle Cesky Krumlov, which tour to take, No. 1 or No. 2?

Hi, We will be using CK Shuttle for our trip to CK from Prague in June. We only have the day since we will use CK Shuttle to take us to the abbey in Melk on our way to Vienna later in the day. We will get tour tickets for the Baroque theater but which castle tour is recommended, No. 1 or No. 2? We will also try to get tickets to climb the tower and museum. We are hoping to arrive in CK before 9a so will start in the castle gardens. If both castle tours are not highly recommended, we'd prefer our limited time wandering the streets in the town. Thanks!

We took tour number 1 and the theater tour, so I can't say if tour number 2 would have been better. The theater tour is better than tour number 1. If you only have the day, I would take the theater tour, be sure to see the gardens out back and spend your very limited time doing other things.

+1 for Tigerfan's comments. I found booking the one (?) English Baroque theater tour of the afternoon difficult. I'm sure it fills up. Can you buy in advance on the internet now?

Edit: Referring to the next post, the mansion/schloss (not what most people consider a "castle") was for us, underwhelming. Not sure which tour we took.

The English theater tour didn't fit our schedule, so we went with the Czech tour. The important thing is to get into the theater - I believe the guide had an English-language handout. But if you read up on the theater beforehand, you'll be able to appreciate what you see. If you can score tix for the English tour, so much the better. I'd suggest not spending all of your time at the castle - put aside some time to walk around the town.
