I am preparing for a trip to Germany. Am considering renting a car in Prague at 15 euros/day and then driving into Germany for a 30 day visit there....then back to Prague to drop car and fly home. Is this a better plan than renting a car in Munich and operating from there? Thank you.
as long as you are OK with the Czech road tolls and staying out of the Umweltplakette restricted (generally urban and some suburban) areas for which the Czech car won't have the window sticker.
With CZ number plates and sticker some drivers may see you as not German.
You must inform the rental company that you want to drive the car in another country. At the same time, you must ensure that the insurance also covers this country. Given the price difference between the Czech Republic and Germany, I would expect a certain surcharge. And the car most likely does not have a German emissions sticker, which means it is not allowed to enter a number of cities.
I shudder to think what type of company rents cars out for €15 per day. It sounds too good to be true and you know what that could mean. There may be surprises in store when you return the car.
