Can US tourists visit Prague

A friend in Prague said that tourists can not visit as of now? Is this true as I haven't read it anywhere? I thought I needed proof of vaccine and a passenger locator.

Any information would be helpful.

I know it's crazy but she sent something dated July 19th. So many hoops, I mean I understand why but it is so hard to navigate.

Double-dose vaccines: Proof of 22 days after second dose, within the last nine months.

This is from embassy link.
I have not seen a time limit on a vaccination before. This will be difficult since boosters are not allowed. I received my second dose of vaccine in January.

Hi vandrabud, the 22 days is only so that the second part of the vaccine has taken it's full effect. So the time between your second vaccine and when you enter CZ has to be at least 22 days. As you had your second dose in January you are most certainly more than 22 days. CZ Health ministry has not yet issued any guidelines on booster jabs but I expect it will be along the lines of being included in an updated vaccine certificate showing everything. For example, the CZ EU Certificate system shows the dates of the jabs and the dates/results of any official PCR/Antigen tests (tests paid for by the state) so they'll just add new info to that.
US is termed as a third-party country. I recently travelled from what CZ would call a third-party country i.e. the UK. I did not show my Czech residency papers so UK authorities treated me like a UK Citizen going to Czech. To get into Czech I needed the EU Certificate showing vaccine state and a completed Passenger Locator form. I did not need a separate PCR test and even though I had a negative Antigen test just in case, I was not asked for it. This conflicts with the current "official" requirement for entry being given by the Health ministry here at https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/article/coronavirus-information-of-moi.aspx

Jason, the form says that we cannot enter for tourism. Am I not reading this correctly? I am a fully vaccinated US citizen who will be coming via France after a 4 week stay.

It's confusing for me. Thanks.

Not Prague specific, but Europe/ international generally: I had a May-June trip which took me through Germany - Egypt - Belgium. Changes were happening so quickly that I was checking the official sites weekly: the U.S. State Dept site (.gov) & then the equivalent sites of each destination's government. Good luck.

It was the rest of the sentence that I was referring to: within the last nine months.

vandrabud, sorry I mis-read the question but so far I have not found any reference to a "nine month" period on either the Health Ministry or Foreign Ministry websites.

nicolatwig, as of August 13th the USA appears in the official "low-risk" list of countries. Although there is a blanket ban on tourism this mostly applies to Very High risk countries so you have to look at the exemptions. In the official chart of rules for entry to CZ for non-EU or non-EU+ nationals on the document at https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/file/chart-rules-for-entry-and-return-to-the-czech-republic-under-the-ministry-of-health-protective-measure-for-third-countries-nationals.aspx which was updated on August 5th, Point 2 Note clearly says the following:

NOTE: a citizen of a third country with a low risk of COVID-19 transmission and a third country national with a long-term or permanent residence permit in a third country with a low risk of COVID-19 transmission may enter the Czech Republic for any reason (return to home, travel to work or for study, family visit, travel to doctor’s or to deal with official matters, attendance at funeral, attendance at wedding, tourism, etc.)

So this applies to anyone who is a citizen or long-term resident of a Third country which the Czech authorities list as low risk. Then, as the US Embassy page points out, you need to understand any transit requirements or to check that the country you are travelling from is on the low risk list which is at https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/file/notification-of-moh-list-of-the-countries-with-low-risk-of-covid19.aspx. Then to note any testing requirement if arriving from that country.

That's the letter of the law but this week I entered CZ from a "High-Risk" Third country i.e. the UK and I was not asked for any proof of testing at passport control which according to the health ministry link at https://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/article/coronavirus-information-of-moi.aspx I should have been asked to provide.
