Can't think of a comment that would do it justice.
Wonderful , James , just wonderful ! When we left Hlvani Nadrazi this past fall bound for Budapest , we saw the statue on the platform and wondered what it was , you filled in a gap . Another Schindler , and Raoul Wallenberg wrapped into one man . very touching , I hope more people take the time to look at this . Further information here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Winton
I am afraid the day is near when we will need more such people.
@ James , and anyone else who followed this . I write from my hotel in Edinburgh , having just read this opinion piece in The New York Times of 30/10/14 . It is entitled " An Old Man in Prague " by Roger Cohen . I don't know how to directly link it using my tablet , but a heads up to anyone with an interest in the story of the selfless Sir Nicolas Winton . This is worth a read , thanks to James for originally bringing his story to the fore.
I was fortunate enough to have seen the "60 Minutes" segment. It made me cry then and this lifebuzz posting makes me cry now. As has been said, a truly amazing man and one of the world's true heroes. Thank you for posting this, James.
Thank you so much for sharing this James. I too feel Sir Nicholas Winton is an amazing and extraordinary hero.
I visited Prague this past June, and in Kampa Island there was an open-air exhibition celebrating Winton. The exhibition was wonderful to see, and in such a lovely setting in Kampa Island. Once again thank you for posting James.
Best Regards,
Ernesto
