Cabs from Prague Train Station

Hi! Is there a "cab line" or cabs waiting around at the Prague train station? Thank you!

Yes there is an official taxi stand. However, because drivers seen reluctant to use the meter when picking up tourists from Prague's main station (Hlavni Nadrazi), Rick's Prague guidebook (p. 256) suggests catching a cab on the other side of the park, in front of Hotel Chopin. In any case, insist that they use the meter. Metro and tram are also easy ways to reach stops in the city center.

I would agree with Laura, actually you often get drivers approaching folk in the station asking if they want a taxi, do not take them up on their offfer.
The rank Laura mentions is best ,the Chopin Hotel has now changed its name to Exe City hotel but it is very obvious.
where do you need to get to?

Thank you both--from what I have read, cabs can be a little "fishy" in Prague. I have to go from the Prague train station to the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Mala Strana. We will be returning on the train from Cesky Krumlov, but I think the easiest thing to to (with luggage) is to just book the CK shuttle from Cesky Krumlov to Prague. ;)

might be worth asking the hotel if they have a car service that can pick you up at the train station.
The no15 tram goes from near the train station to Hellichova very close to the hotel.
