Bus travel from Dresden to Prague

My husband and I want to travel from Dresden to Prague by bus in early June. We will be staying in Dresden overnight, taking the bus on a Sunday morning and returning to Dresden on Wednesday morning. Has anyone done this and what recommendations can you make?

Why take the bus? I've taken the EC from Prague to Dresden, and it was far more comfortable in a 6 person, 2nd class compartment than it would be on a bus.

The train is faster, and with an advance purchase ticket from the Bahn, less expensive (14€). There's an EC every two hours, the trip takes 2h19. With advance purchase from the Bahn, the train to Prague will cost you 14€. The walk up price in Prague for the train back is 386Kc, also about 14€.

I find Student Agency to be more comfortable than Flixbus. Student Agency buses have an on-board entertainment system, with screens in the seatbacks. They also have a steward on board who offers free newspapers, magazines and hot drinks and there is also WiFi on board (only when in Czech Republic).

Edit: I have corrected the URL.

Thank you for your replies. Is it better to wait until we get to Dresden and buy tickets then?

If traveling by train, there's money to be saved by buying the tickets now (if you're certain about timing, because the cheap tickets are non-refundable/non-changeable). You can check out various dates on the Deutsche Bahn website. I see fares as low as 14 euros in early June, but if you want to buy a ticket for the next few days, you might pay as much as 40 euros. Those are per-person prices.

I've seen some price variation on bus fares, too, but don't know anything about your particular routing.

Why do you want to take bus? Between Dresden and Prague train is faster and more comfortable and not prone to get stuck in one of those horrible traffic jams around Prague. Once I took Student Agency bus from Brno to Prague and it took 5 hours instead of 2. The last 30 km took those additional 3 hours. Since then I am taking train. There are certainly trips between destinations where is better and faster to take a bus but this one is not one of them.
