Budget Stay in Prague

Hi I am from India. Great to see this webpage, which is full of information. However, I'm not sure if I can ask the forum a small favor. I am planning to visit your city in the month of May, when all the hotel prices are high. I am a solo traveler and looking for a hotel which is reasonable in price (~800 crowns/day) and well connected to city centre and airport. Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks a lot for your help.

to be honest i think your budget is a bit ambitious, I would look at booking.com,hotels.com ,trivago and Kayak. Also any other sites that are maybe India based.
you are not going to get great hotels at that budget, but look in areas outside the city center.
The good thing is that Prague has a superb ,integrated transport system and cheap transport system, so look for places neat tram and metro stops.
if you can make a list of hotels in your price range then some of us can help with how the location and transport options that might work for you but I am afraid you need to do some legwork to try and get places in your budget.
Hostels may be an option but you will be sharing rooms and bathrooms and even in the cheaper hotels bathrooms will most likely be shared.

Thanks to both of you. I understand that I can take a bus from Airport bus 119 and reach to Nadrazi Veleslavin metro station. Should I look hotel around that area or near any other metro stops in Line A.

the bus is now number 59 trolley bus ( changed last year) and goes to Veleslavin, there is the Avion hotel near there that i have stayed in a few times but never within your budget though it is not that expensive and has good transport links to the city

you could consider looking at the Namesti Miru area of the city ,direct Metro from Veleslavin in about 15 minutes or so, numerous hotels in the area and super tram an metro links, there are also numerous bars and restaurants as well as cheaper carry-out places . I think you might be able to find something a bit nearer your budget.

Thanks UncleGus. I came across another challenge i.e. my return flight is 6am in the morning from Prague. So I guess I have to take a cab from hotel to airport or stay somewhere near the airport. I have to check-in to airport not later than 3am in the night.
