Brno to Moravsky Krumlov and back

We are staying in Brno for one night and want to go to Moravsky Krumlov to see the Slav Epic by Mucha. Recommendations for how to get there in the morning (on a Sunday morning) and return to Brno the same day in the early afternoon?
Thanks in advance.

Please check to see if it is still there. I know the exhibition was moved to Prague a while back. I'm not sure where it is at currently.

It appears the 20 canvases of Mucha’s “Slovanska Epopej” ( Slav Epic) currently are in Moravsky Krumlov’s Castle and are due to be moved back to Prague ahead of schedule sometime in 2024 to their new home in Prague’s Savarin Palace near Wenceslas Square. The Moravsky Krumlov Castle website says tickets are available online for both Sunday 12/10 and Sunday 12/17. When online tix are sold out—there are still tickets sold directly at the castle until the castle gallery reaches its capacity. In this situation you may want to e-mail them for how best to secure tickets for your date so you are not disappointed. The castle ticket office website is:
www.reservace@mucha-epopej.cz
Admission to the Exhibit is between 9am-3pm with closing time at 4pm. So, the optimal morning Czech train to take departs Brno’s main train station on Sundays at 8:50am arriving in Moravsky Krumlov at 9:39. The optimal trains returning to Prague depart Moravsky Krumlov at 12:17 14:17 and 16:17.
Have a great trip!

Hi from Wiscosin,
This may sound stupid. Make sure to get either printed descriptions or an audio for all the paintings. Each , of course. is a story in itself. A lot of history per panel and beautiful.
