best way to travel from Prague to Cesky Krumlov for one night Cesky stay with return to Prague

Is it better to transit via train or shared shuttle van (assuming available in Prague). Anyone have experience either way? thanks.

We liked CK Shuttle -- hotel-to-hotel transport. (Vienna> CK > Prague)
For one night, will you be able to take just a tiny bag ? If bags are not a problem, maybe abus would work.

I second the CK Shuttle. We took it door to door from Prague to CK, spent a night, then from there door to door from CK to Vienna. We had all of our luggage (carry on size) with us as we were changing locations. We were very happy with their service.

We took the student agency bus from prague direct to cesky krumlov, 8€ per persons 3h one way. They have many buses per day, and it was very confortable.

Years and years ago, we were going the other direction, from Czesky Krumlov to Prague, by train. It was a sloooow train, with a girl in a front seat high on some illegal drug, having a “bad trip,” which didn’t make our trip on the train any better. Glad to know there are now shuttle options!

I may be a little late to the party but I will give another vote for CK shared Shuttle. We took it from Vienna>CK (2 night stay) CK>Prague. The driver was on time, the van was comfortable, lovely scenery and a 15 min. comfort break along the way.

We rented a car and drove down. We stopped at Konopiste (https://www.zamek-konopiste.cz/en) on the way (Franz-Ferdinand's house) and it was really interesting if you like WWI history. Once in Chesky Krumlov, we parked in a lot and walked into the town (our family consolidated and had one bag for 4 of us for 1 night). We stayed in a hotel in the town and did a rafting trip rather than the castle (we had done a lot of castles on that trip, so we passed on that one!).

Enjoy! It's a neat town!

We also rented a car and drove from Prague to Cesky Krumlov. The drive was very easy. Along the way, we stopped at Chateau Hluboka nad Vltavou, which is breathtaking! It’s a 19th century castle straight out of a fairy tale, and one of the highlights of our trip.

Have you made your hotel accommodations for CK? We stayed at Hotel Zlaty Andel, located right on the square. There were 4 of us, and we had a 2-room suite. Breakfast was included, and it was very delicious and ample.
