I’d like to visit the Czech Republic in fall of 2019. I know foliage varies depending on temps, but would it generally speaking be better during early to mid October rather than late September? Airfare is on sale right now but I can only book until the end of September. Thinking I may wait until we can book for October as I’d like to see the fall colors there and from what I’ve read it seems like our chance of that is better in October? Thanks!
mid October will probably be better. i am in Prague several times a year and in various seasons. I was there 1-8th october this year and the leaves were beginning to turn and some interesting colours but i reckon a week or two later would give you full colour ranges. I have been in Prague in late October and there has been some great colours.
areas live Stromovka Park and Divoka sarky are good places to see the autumn colours and if you don't mind a short bus rifd them Pruhonice park is a great place to visit.
Thanks Unclegus. Glad to hear confirmation that it will be better to wait. Hopefully another good deal will come around soon when October dates are available to book! 😊
today on my Facebook memories I got a load of photos I took at Pruhonice Park on this day 4 years ago, though many trees had lost the majority of their leaves the place still looked stunning with plenty of Autumn colours to be seen.
Hi fro Wisconsin,
I would suggest that the weather and seasons in Czechia and Wisconsin are very similar. I have only spent one fall in Czechia, but have been communicating with friends who live there for over 20 years. I would try to time your visit to be there Oct 1 -10. Peak in WI is Oct 4-6.

Peak foliage of course fluctuates, this year it was later because of very warm and long fall, but generally speaking the best bet would be mid October plus minus. But for much more colorful foliage I would go to Vermont or New Hampshire.
