Are guides available/recommended for a day trip from Prague to a small town about 1 1/2 hours away?

The entire adventure would probably be done in a morning. Any ideas about possible cost for the drive and maybe some translating? The town is my grandmother's birthplace and I'd love to nose around a bit.

there are lots of companies that will organise a private tour for you and I have listed a couple., where are you actually wanting to go to?

this company though mainly a shuttle does a lot more than that and I know Chris the owner a bit.he is an American ex-pat who has lived in Prague for over 20 years and I know he does a lot of this sort of thing, so send him an email and he may be able to advise.

Thank you for the information. You've been very helpful. I would be going to the village of Tojice. My grandmother left there in 1905.

I was just having a look to see if it is possible to get there by public transport ,it is but awkward and lenthy timewise.Bus or train to Plzen and then at least 2 other bus trips taking a total of around 3 hours each way.No a good idea in my opinion.Looks like a private car would be no more than 90 minutes each way from central Prague.
