We would like to spend a couple of nights in Prague before going to Dresden. Any advice on hotels that are central?
Price range per night? Are there just two of you, or do you need to house additional people?
I like the hotel Ventana. Cant do better for location; but its a bit on the very nice side.
Just my grown daughter and myself. All suggestions welcome, and thank you.
Oh, and around $125 US would be ideal.
We love staying on Kampa Island at the foot of the Charles Bridge. It’s so calm there after a day of sightseeing. Our favorite hotel is The Golden Scissors. I once heard the receptionist at another hotel say Golden Cesars so I thought I’d be trying to find a hotel with a laurel wreath or Roman theme on the sign. After I walked by the sign with SCISSORS on it for the third time I finally figured out what she had been saying. Great location, rooms and breakfast. Not air conditioned but they provide fans.
Prices vary a lot by date! http://www.uzlatychnuzek.cz/en/home/
I had an enjoyable stay a few months ago at the Hotel Hastal. It is in the old Jewish quarter, walkable to most sights, and in your price range. It is charming and decorated in the art deco style. Breakfast is included.

That also sounds lovely. In answer to a different question...we will be there the second week in September. Thank you.
Following along and would like to add a question. (hoping thats ok)
I plan to be in Prague over Christmas 12/23-12/27. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel with a family room or a small suite? My sons are 18 and 21. Two bathrooms would be ideal.
We visited Prague in September of 2018 and stayed at Hotel Hastel. It was wonderful!
You may want something away from the "action".
The fall of Prague: ‘Drunk tourists are acting like they’ve conquered our city’
We stayed at the Unitas-Hotel, just a bit out of the main tourist area, but close to everything. Some great restaurants in the area.
We will soon be staying 6 nights in the centrally located Hotel Hastal. We based our decision on great reviews from this forum & Booking.com. We want to be in Old Town, & the Jewish area for our guided tour.
We can third recommendation for Hotel Hastal . Stayed there this past May - ideal location and very comfy
We stayed in this hotel which is near the castle. We loved the quiet and the opportunity to walk around the castle in the morning and late evening with no crowds. Several good restaurants and other tourist attractions in the area. Con - it is up the hill from the Charles Bridge and Old Town.
The Green Garland Pension is in walking distance to tourist attractions and moderate priced.

Historic building = no lift. Our room was big and breakfast was good.
We stayed in a wonderful aparthotel. Very close to old town square with two bathrooms. It also had a balcony and beautiful view. It's at Rybna 9. I wrote a blog post on it if you'd like more information. https://sunsetsandrollercoasters.com/family-of-five-accommodation-prague/
