A direct train to Cesky Krumlov

Ceske Drahy have just introduced a new direct train to from Prague to Cesky Krumlov.

It departs Praha Hlavni Nadrazi at 8:02 and arrives in Krumlov at 10:50, calling at Tabor and Ceske Budejovice.

It returns at 14:02, arriving back at Hlavni Nadrazi at 16:57, also calling at Tabor and Budejovice.

Great idea and looks like it would be perfect for an overnight in CK. Wish they would leave Prague earlier and CK later to make it viable for a day trip because 11am to 2pm in CK is hardly enough time to make the train trip worth it. Maybe someday, they'll expand it.

I'd recommend getting off at Ceske Budejovice and stopping by The Original Budweiser Brewery for a tour and some 'Budvar'. Their restaurant is also very good and you can make reservations for both the brewery tour and the restaurant on-line. This will probably ruffle some beer aficionados' feathers but, in my opinion, Budvar is a much better tasting beer than Pilsner Urquell. Any other Budvar fans out there?

Yes, count me in for Budvar over Urquell. Our store here at home carries Budvar and it's all I buy now.

If you get off at Ceske Budejovice for the tour, is there a later local train one can catch from there to CK? thanks

You can also find schedule on Deutsche Bahn website and http://www.idos.cz . If you intend to get off in Ceske Budejovice then you have many more trains to choose from.
