My family and I will be spending New Year's Eve in Prague. We will be staying at the Augustine Hotel and would love a nice upscale restaurant where we can make a reservation for dinner on New Year's Eve. Either Italian or French would be the preference, but open to suggestions!

have a look at this link, gives ideas of places that will have special New years party/meals on.they won't be cheap.there are also special river crusies on too so might be worth looking for them
.The city will be busy especially around Old Town Square,Charles bridge and Wenseslas Square can/will get crazy with folk letting off fireworks
I will be in Prgaue over new year but will be watching the festivities from the safety of Letna park with some friends.
On New years day at 6.00pm there will be a fireworks display, now as far as wecan work out they will be on Zizkov hill but we are trying to get confirmation of that and the best place to watch will be from Letna Park and again I will be there with friends and a very large flask of malt Whisky.There is a possiblity they will use Letna park for the fireworks ( I am hoping not) but not been confirmed and if that is the case then we will probably be down by the riverside.
