We are flying into Zagreb and will head towards the NP to spend the next day in the park. After that we head towards Split to spend 3-4 days seeing that area. Then we will fly out of Split to Milan for the next phase. Any recommendations on where to stay, sites to see, restaurants would be appreciated.
What time of year? Do you want to stay in Split and do day trips or do an island stay?
Transport?
Getting there late April of 2026. Day trips to the island would be preferred.
Yes in April that sounds nice. You can day trip to Hvar and Brac, visit Trogir one day, plus the Split sites to round out a few days.
A daytrip from Split to Šibenik (1-hour away) would also be worthwhile.
There isn’t much to see in Split itself, but handy for catching boats and buses to other places.
I wouldn’t agree “there isn’t much to see in Split itself.”
Someone must have completely missed Diocletian’s Palace— a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
