Zadar - Sibenik - Plitvice itinerary advice

Appreciate some advice on our 12 days in Croatia.

We land in Zadar and leave from Zadar

Day 1-6 Sibenik as a base to see Krka, islands, maybe a day trip to Trogir or Split

Day 7-8 Plitvuce NP, one night

Day 8-10 Ugljan island, chill and explore

Day 11-12 Zadar old city, then fly out

Any advice?
Is Sibenik too long for a base? Enough there to enjoy evenings?
What would you change?
Any accommodation advice?

Few notes - we will have a car, we like to be close to bars and restaurants at night but we aren’t clubbing. Happy to avoid very busy tourist spots, we like nature and beaches. We’ve been to south Croatia before and don’t plan to go again.

Thanks a lot!

We haven’t been to Šibenik but have been to the other places you mention, numerous times. All are lovely. We are hoping to get to Šibenik this September.

If you visit Plitvice there is no need to also visit Krka, Unless you really love lakes.
The ferries from šibenik are limited, there are many more options from Zadar.
FYI - the ferry from Zadar to Ugljan is listed as Preko.
Šibenik is pretty central, 1 hour to Trogir or Split, 1 hour to Zadar for driving so that is a plus.

I am confident you will have a good time during your 5 night stay in Šibenik - I have read it is a little hilly though. One visit we stayed in Dubrovnik for 6 nights and people thought we were crazy. We had a great time and found plenty to do. Croatia is definitely what I call a chill country, mostly relaxing and swimming.

Thanks Barbara - yes, as you say, we might prioritize the Plitvice visit for lakes and keep time in Šibenik for sea / beach experiences!

I’m a bit worried about the hilly reviews to be honest - would love to understand if that is the whole place or just certain routes!
