Winter Ferries Bari to Dubrovnik

I am planning/hoping to take the ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik next January, but can't find any that run in the winter, including the main ferry company, Jadrolinija. They now only do that route from early April to late October. The flights I have found from Rome to Dubrovnik were $500 and up, and generaly included two (!!) stops &/or super-long layovers. Any suggestions?

There have not typically been winter ferries from Bari to Dubrovnik, but Jadrolinija and Blue Line each had a couple per week between Ancona and Split in winter 2013 (per Thomas Cook timetable). At www.skyscanner.com, I see a Rome-Dubrovnik flight with one connection at Zagreb for $400 on Croatia Airlines in January. Flights are cheaper on several airlines for an October date; I don't know whether the same could happen in January.
