can anyone recommend a store/restaurant that offers wine and truffle pairings/tasting in Istria. Looks like RS tours do this in the general vicinity of Motovun.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, I have the 2012 Croatia Guidebook addition, and it does not mention much other than that Istria has many good wineries. Being a Northern California wine lover, I am wondering specifically:
1) do I need to make appts ahead with wineries, or can I just "show up?"
2) are there specific really GOOD wineries not to be missed (if you have names, I can google for other info)
3) do some wineries offer food and wine (especially truffle and wine) pairings?
4) I am aware of Zigante truffle store/restaurant. Are there many stores offering truffle tasting aside from this one? I assume there is a cost to tasting as truffles are expensive.
