I am staying at the Hotel Nuptun at Babin Kuk near Dubrovnik, and wondered how far it is from Dubrovnik, and if you can walk there or if it is on a bus line with frequent service to Dubrovnik.

It's a couple of miles away. I guess you could walk it but I don't know if you'd want to. We walked part of the way from Dubrovnik up towards there but turned back as we liked Dubrovnik proper more. Not sure about transit - maybe someone else has experience with that. We did take buses out of Dubrovnik to other places...they ran often and were fine.

I should add that - for at least the road we were walking, which was the one closest to the coast line, it was narrow and there was a lot of traffic so we were not enjoying the walk that much. We do enjoy walking - just not under the circumstances there.

Hotel Neptun's own website shows how far the walk is - for buses etc, the best thing to do would be to email the hotel, as their section showing bus access doesn't work.

I found these links just by googling - it looks like you can get a bus from Babin Kuk. You can confirm with hotel. The city buses are inexpensive and nice, although they can get crowded. I bought a pass that covered a lot of museums and public transport (for 3 days) once I got into town.

We stayed at the Neptun and the end if the bus line was very close. Buses seemed to run frequently. The bus drivers are very patient and helpful with ticket valudation and directions. I'd check with the hotel staff re where to get the bus/tickets. By the way, we lived the hotel! Very quiet and beautiful.
