Hi,
I'd like to get advice on options to travel from Vienna to Ljubljana. There are no direct flights, and a bus ride can take 5-6 hours, I don't mind driving, but I'm traveling from one country to another and that is an expensive option. After Ljubljana I'm traveling down the Croatian coast, so I'm not returning to Austria.

Take the train. One direct departure per day if I'm not mistaken, and several more with a change somewhere.

2255 arrive 0809- Nightjet to Salzburg arrive 0203, Euronight from Salzburg at 0210 (this train is bound for Zagreb)

We want to go from Ljubijana to Vienna. Does anyone know if there is a direct train in that direction? Thanks
It's the return of the Emona train, departs at about 4pm, gets to Vienna at 10pm.
We did the train. It was great. We had an unforced stop in Villach, which was a fun detour on our trip (something on the track).
