Viator tours? Other tour company options?

Hi!

Viator seems to be a ubiquitous tour company. Does anyone have experience with them? Good or bad? Suggestions of other companies based on personal experience?

We are mostly interested in:
1. Sea kayaking to Lokrum and having time on the island (from Dubrovnik)
2. Visiting the Elaphite islands - having time on one/multiple of them too, snorkeling maybe? (either from Dubrovnik or Hvar/Vis or Split)
3. Lake Plitvice (probably from Split or SIbenik/Zadar)
4. Krka National Park (probably from Split or Sibenik/Zadar)
5. Going to some "hidden" secluded coves/caves/bays/beaches/blue caves to swim/relax/snorkel

Thanks!
Ling

Viatour is not a tour company, they do not run tours! They are simply a middleman agency that sells tours.

It's generally best to look up which tours you are interested in taking and compare prices. Sometimes, not often, Viatour buys blocks of tickets and passes on a slight discount, but, usually buying through the actual tour supplier is cheaper.

Viator is good for doing initial research. I believe I mentioned this on another one of your questions, but didn't elaborate. Viator acts as a middleman and does not run the tours themselves. Instead, they allow certain tours to be advertised through their website. Viator claims that they research the tours and only approve of those tours that meet their quality criteria. You can sometimes get a better deal through Viator. Sometimes you can get a better tour through dealing with the tour company directly.

I have used Viator with good results. I always cross reference the tours with TripAdvisor (to check quality claims) and with the tour company running the tour itself (to check any price differences). If the quality is there, I will book with the cheaper option.
