Waymo have been running supervised trials in London for several months. Driverless cars are supposedly due by the end of the year.

The results I perceive from Waymo, especially test by Reuters in Texas create doubts that this will be a good solution for Europe.

The ones here in London have already run into issues, including driving thru a police cordon into a crime scene.

including driving thru a police cordon into a crime scene.

It was funny how the human supervisor / driver had to take the fall for the machine. I call bs on that one. Seems unlikely a professional driver would just straight up drive through police tape.

just last Friday (Have I Got News For You) saw video of London Waymos which keep getting trapped in a cul-de-sac (dead end) in East London and having to reverse out, making the awful electric watch-out noise all the time. yukk

As London, England, GB, UK is in Europe I'd dispute the "first" claim

(also Milton Keynes)
