traveling in Hungary/ Croatia... advice

Hi there!

We are flying in and out of Budapest. We also have reservations on Hvar (Starigrad). Wondering a few questions:
1) Best way to get from Budapest to Split? (airline?/ we will take train back and stop half way)
2) Do we need to make reservations for ferry/ train if we are traveling late June/ early July?
3) Thank you!!!

Skyscanner.com is a good place to look for intra-European flights.

You will take the train back? You realize that's 15 hours? Your halfway stop will be Zagreb.

There may be a better deal, but it looks like a flight is 4.5 hours to 7 hours with one change of planes and $200 to $400 per ticket depending on when you are traveling and you threshold on layover time.

If you get more creative and travel down the coast to Podgorica there are direct connections to Budapest.

Yes. We realize it is a long train ride back. We are traveling from split to Zagreb and spending two nights there. We are certainly going to use Skyscanner and book a flight down! Thx for the feedback! We will look into the other city on the coast but we are not doing a rent a car. Thanks again! Any other advice is welcome.
