We are staying in Trogir and will be going to Split for the day. What would be the best way to travel? I am assuming it doesn't make sense to drive to Split and try to park? I know we can take the ferry. Has anyone taken a bus? Which would be more convenient/faster? Maybe the ferry one way and the bus the other?

We stayed in Split, and took the boat to Trogir. The main issue would be timing. I would assume that you want to do something there. I'd take the transport that gave me the most time. You could drive, and park near but no in the old town. If you already have the car, I'd consider that. Just find out ahead of time where you could park. Driving in the old section is nuts.

A bus is always an option. Driving is not a great idea unless you plan on parking outside the pedestrian zone.
