Travel from Plitvice to Naples Italy

We had planned to take the ferry from Split to Ancona Italy on October 6. But it looks like the ferries are not running then. So we need to fly or take train. The train option taskes longer than we want. So we are now looking for flights from Split or Zagreb to Naples. But many of the airlines that come up on this routing are are ones we don't use or are uncomfortable with. Any experience flying Air Serbia or Croatian Air. Have also seen ITA. Has anyone used these airlines? We could also fly to Rome. We are trying to find flights with only one stop. FYI, We will be traveling by car service the day of or the day before from Plitvice National park. Thanks. Pat

Avoid Air Serbia, you want to stay in the Schengen zone. Croatia airlines and ITA are both full service airlines and there should be nothing to worry about. I would decide based on schedule and if I wanted frequent flier points from Skyteam or Star Alliance.

Ryan Air has a direct flight from Zagreb to Naples on October 6 early in the morning. it wouldn't be my first choice for an airline, but it is direct.

My second choice would probably be the 4:05p flight from Split to Rome on Croatia Airlines. You could still stay in Plitvice the night before and have plenty of time to get to the airport, whereas for the Zagreb-Naples flight you'd lose the night and have to spend it in Zagreb. I flew Croatia Airlines once years ago: Split to Paris. It was originally a direct flight but was canceled at the last minute. I was put on a connecting flight through Zagreb early in the morning - inconvenient but it got me there. Croatia Airlines is a Star Alliance member, so presumably if your flight to Rome was canceled like mine was, they'd put you on a Lufthansa flight via Munich (leaves earlier but of course takes longer). You wouldn't have that option with Ryan Air of course.

Croatia Air is Croatia’s flagship carrier and ITA is Italy’s. Flagship carriers are that countries main airline. I’ve flown Air Croatia which is no different than any other airline.
