The best connections for our return flight to Vancouver after our tour ends are from Zagreb. I see online there are taxi options and wonder if anyone has used a taxi or are there better options. Our flight would be at 1305 so we have time for the 2+ hour drive. I know there are flights from Ljubljana but the Zagreb option is considerably cheaper for 4 people. Thanks

There are a few direct trains from Lesce Bled station to Zagreb, for instance, departing at 7:30 a.m. (take an earlier taxi to that train station) and arriving central Zagreb at 10:45, then another taxi out to the airport (30 min). However, I'd consider spending a night in Zagreb, in case of any delay, and Rick's guidebook describes plenty to enjoy in that city.

It's been 10 years, but after renting a car in Venice, Italy and driving to Bled, we continued on to Zagreb and other parts of Croatia, before turning the car back in to Venice. Highways in some places had just been built, and they were well-designed, with easy-to-follow signs, and traffic moved smoothly. Not sure about where you'd rent a car or turn it back in (make sure with your potential rental company of the costs of turning in a car in a different location) but driving might be an option for you.
