We will be traveling to Croatia in October.
What is the best way to get from Dubrovnik to Split - bus or ferry?
Jadrolinija ferries do not run on that route in October, but Krilo still does in about 4.5 hours, leaving at 4 PM (so you arrive at night).
There are many more buses throughout the day and the opening of the Peljesac bridge must have made this significantly faster than it used to be, but still probably not much faster than the catamaran (maybe 4 hours?).
Driving Dubrovnik to Split using the Peljesac Bridge now makes the drive 3 hours 15 minutes.
We hired Ermin (see Steves Croatia book) to drive us from Dubrovnik to a Mostar visit then to Split. Why not?
If you rent a car, it is very easy driving from Dubrovnik to Split. We stopped off at Ston along the way for a delicious fresh seafood lunch. Driving in Croatia is very easy.
I am planning a group trip for 2024. I am trying to avoid renting a car for the first half of our trip. What are some transportation options to get from Dubrovnik to Brela (just north of Makarska). Any tips besides a bus? Anyone have pricing info on a private shuttle? Thanks!
We used Octopus Transfers three times in Croatia and were very happy with them. You can get cost estimates on their website. https://www.octopustransferscroatia.com
